Arnel Pineda says sorry to National History Institute

Whenever Manny Pacquao would fight in the boxing ring, the controversy follows fro all the singers who sing our national anthem Lupang Hinirang. On the most recent fight of Pacquiao, Arnel Pineda is the one who committed a mistake on changing the tone of the national anthem and this is what the National History Institute didn’t like.
Arnel Pineda did admit his mistakes and that he is only human who is bound to commit such. This is what he have to say on an Abs CBN interview on March 16, 2010.
“I apologize for my dissatisfactory performance dun sa fight ni Pacquiao and Clottey sa Dallas, Texas, according to their standards. What can I do? I’m just doing my job… but then again hindi ako sorry kasi artistic freedom ko ‘yon. It doesn’t make me less of a Filipino dahil sa nabago ang pagkakanta.”
He also added that he did chnge the tone so that it would be more artistic and is up to his caliber.
“Ano ba ang bago? ‘Yong traditional na pagkanta ng ‘Lupang Hinirang’ ang gusto nilang marinig. On my part, I’m just doing my artistic freedom. I was there as Filipino representing Pacquiao and the Philippines, ‘yon ang importante,” he explained.

The Pacquiao vs Clotey fight is over but the fight between Arnel Pineda and National History Institute is just beginning. It seems that NHI didn’t like the way in which the lead singer of the band Journey has sing the national anthem.
We have a law that is stated in the Republic act against all those who would change the hymn of the song.
It adheres to Republic Act 8491 (under Section 37) or the Flag and Heraldic Code, which states: “The national anthem must be sung in accordance with the original musical arrangement of composer Julian Felipe, who gave it a marching tempo. Violators may be fined P5,000 to P20,000 or jailed for a year.”
Although, this is not the first time that tone has been change, I never really heard of anyone being punished by the Republic Act.

Sweet Life and Diz Is It host Grace Lee met an accident on her vacation on Korea last Sunday. She got injured when she was doing snowboarding at the Yongpyong Resort (made famous because of the Winter Sonata Korean telenovela).

According to Grace’s friend DJ Mo. Saturday night when he receives a call that his friend got an accident on Korea, Grace apparently crashed with another skier while going down the mountain. Television personality Grace Lee apparently has broken her arms and has to stay at the nearest hospital in Seol to be treated. She is expected to be back in Manila by Tuesday or Wednesday

Manny Pacquiao is able to retain his championship title by beating the African fighter in a 12th round unanimous decision. All that Clotey was doing all the round was defending so Manny took many shots than Clotey.
Freddie Roach did a good job of analyzing how Cltey fights. He turns the bad habits of Clotey into their advantage.

Do you still remember Raven Villanueva? I do because she is one of my crushes when I was still studying way back 10 years ago. Since the time of TGIS, we haven’t heard of her, that’s it until now, when we found out that she is offering her service as a model for a certain website. That website is said to be a porn site wherein they are displaying some sexy pictures so that they would find some dirty old man to buy them out. At least, that works that way. I don’t want to display the link here since this is a mainstream websites but I found a picture of her while she was doing it.
On her profile page, she has insisted that she was only 20 years old but since she was my crush 10 years ago, I know that this is not her real age. I have to agree that she doesn’t change a bit and that her face looks like a 20 years old but that is a crap.

Ryan Agoncillo confirms that his wife Judy Ann Santos is indeed pregnant. Ryan confesses this on the noontime show Eat Bulaga where he is currently hosting.
Ryan said that only this morning that they find out that Judy Ann was indeed pregnant for two months and four days. Before going to the noontime show both of them goes to a clinic to have Juday check up. The result is positive.
“Medyo natagalan lang po ng pag a-announce dahil hinintay namin yung totoong confirmation dahil nung unang mga lumabas yung mga bali-balita, pregnancy test pa lang po. So, naghintay kami ng talagang…litrato. Di ba, yung naririnig namin yung tibok ng puso nung bata? Ayan, two months and four days,” halatang excited na sabi ni Ryan.
