The 22 years old Miss Virginia Caressa Cameron won the title and the crown of Miss America on Saturday night. Aside from the title and crown she also won $50,000. The numbers of contestants are 54 until she was chosen to be the new Miss America.
Cameron who is a broadcast journalist student wants to become an anchorwoman just like all students with the same course.
“We need to get our kids back outside, playing with sticks in the street like I did when I was little,” she said. “Expand your mind, go outside and get to see what this world is like.”
At the interview part of the competition, Cameron was asked about obesity of the children. She noted that parents should not let their child in front of the television and play some video games more.
After the pageant the 2009 Miss America Katie Slam gave her the crown. Miss California Kristi Cavinder won first runner up
